Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data carrier securing safety of data, and allowing access by a plurality of users. SOLUTION: This data carrier having a memory storing the data has: a password holding part storing a first password set in each plurally divided area (division area) of the memory, and a second password set to the whole area of the memory; and a check part collating the first password and/or the second password stored in the holding part with a password transferred from the outside to perform authentication.
