Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an inkjet recorder and a cleaning method, wherein ink and foreign matters remaining on an intermediate transfer body are efficiently and surely removed without the need for costs for consumables or the like. SOLUTION: The inkjet recorder 10 forms an image on an intermediate transfer drum 14 with ink fed by a printing section 12, and the image formed on the intermediate transfer 14 is transferred to a recording medium 16 with a transfer roller 18. After the transferring is finished, the attachment to the intermediate transfer drum 14 is removed by a first cleaning blade 20, and the attachment to the first cleaning blade 20 is removed by a second cleaning blade 24 arranged in a groove 22. A preliminary discharge is carried out for the groove 22 from a head in a discharging area directly under the printing section 12. The attachment to the second cleaning blade 24 is flushed away into the groove 24 inside, and the ink inside the groove 22 is discharged into a recovery tray 26. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
