Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotary type electric contact device capable of suppressing arc discharge at a rotary electric contact and capable of suppressing arc discharge at the time of opening of a plurality of contacts by one capacitor. SOLUTION: A capacitor and a diode are connected in series to a transient contact provided in parallel with a current flowing contact, and a resistor is connected in parallel to the capacitor. Then, the transient contact is operated to close at the time of opening of the current flowing contact and to open after opening of the current flowing contact. Since current flows to the transient contact at the time of opening of the current flowing contact and charges the capacitor, voltage rise of the current flowing contact is made moderate and generation of arc discharge is suppressed. This arc discharge suppression method is applied to the rotary switch. The rotary switch has a fixed electrode and a movable electrode in opposed structure. The fixed electrode has a power supply electrode and two load electrodes, and has respectively a power supply contact, the current flowing contact, and the transient contact, and the movable electrode has three contacts with different arrangement angle of the power supply contact to contact the power supply electrode, the current flowing contact to contact separate load electrodes, and the transient contact, and they correspond to the lower half and the upper half in the thick dashed line of the figure. Furthermore, arc discharge of a plurality of contacts can be prevented by one capacitor alone. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
