Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect deterioration degree of a battery by an on-vehicle inexpensive constitution. SOLUTION: First and second discharge depth in each switching of discharge and charge is calculated every charging/discharging cycle of the battery 6. Thereafter, a deterioration amount of the charging/discharging cycle of the battery 6 is calculated based on a difference value of the first and second discharge depth. The deterioration amount is integrated every charging/discharging cycle, and when the integration value exceeds a predetermined life level, it is determined as the life of the battery 6.
