Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photodetector capable of reducing optical crosstalk by a simple structure. SOLUTION: The photodetector includes a photodetecting element 3 having photodetection regions 15 and 17 sequentially arranged along a y-axis on a plane M1, a base 11 extending along an end L1 between oppositely facing ends L1 and L2 of the respective adjacent regions 15 and 17, a wiring board 5 provided separately from the element 3 to have a plane M2 facing the plane M1, a base 22 provided on a region of the plane M2 facing the base 11, and a light-shielding wall 31 extending continuously from the base 11 to the opposite base 22 and also continuously extending along the end L1. The wall 31 is in tight contact with each of the bases 11 and 22, and the photodetection region 15, the photodetection region 17, and a wiring part 23 provided on the plane M2 are electrically connected via conductive bumps 29.
