Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rotor of a vertical-shaft rotary electric machine which can prevent the deterioration of reliability without causing the breakage of a rim, even if the rim is constituted by laminating a plurality of rim plates which are divided into a plurality of pieces. SOLUTION: In the rotor of the vertical-shaft rotary electric machine; the second rim plate is arranged so as to stride over gaps between divided parts of the first rim located at the outermost side in the rim-laminated direction, and the end of each second rim plate and the end of the first rim plate are joined to each other by welding.
