Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a capacitor capable of obtaining a good cycle characteristic and having a good energy density. SOLUTION: In this capacitor, polarizable positive and a negative electrodes 1, 2 are arranged through a separator 4 in which electrolyte is impregnated so that the positive electrode 1 and the negative electrode 2 are opposed to each other. The positive electrode 1 has a black lead material having an average layer surface space of 0.339 nm or less, and the negative electrode 2 has a carbon material having an average layer surface space of more than 0.355 nm and 0.380 nm or less. This leads to a good cycle characteristic. In addition, the positive electrode 1 may have a carbon material and a material which reversibly repeats the oxidation and the reduction with doping and dedoping of lithium ion, and the negative electrode 2 may have a carbon material having an average layer surface space of more than 0.355 nm and 0.380 nm or less.
