Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive device that is highly accurately and satisfactorily fitted to an apparatus main body, and to provide an image forming apparatus. SOLUTION: The drive device includes drive motors 3 and 4 and a plurality of gears 5 to 11. The drive device is fitted to the apparatus main body by inserting the gear shafts 5C to 11C of the gears 5 to 11 into the insertion holes 25 to 31 of the apparatus main body 20, thereby positioning it. The drive motors 3 and 4 and the plurality of gears 5 to 11 are supported on a single sheet metal 2. Fitting guide shafts 22 are provided for guiding the drive device being fitted to the apparatus main body 20. The lengths by which the gear shafts 5C to 11C are inserted into the insertion holes 25 to 31 are different so that the gear shafts 5C to 11C are inserted into the insertion holes 25 to 31 in order from the gear shaft 9C and 10C closest to the guide shafts 22.
