Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display device, wherein NVIS adaptation is attained and the color rendering properties of display in three primary colors in the daytime is superior. SOLUTION: The display device combines the image light from a red display element illuminated by a light source for red color, the image light from a blue display element illuminated by a light source for blue color, and the image light from a green display element illuminated by a light source for green color, and displays the composite image by the image light of the three primary colors. The light source for red color includes a first red light source 11 for irradiating the near-red light of a wavelength region on a wavelength side shorter than the boundary wavelength set based on the NVIS adaptation, and a second red light source 111 for irradiating the red light of a wavelength region on a wavelength side longer than at least the boundary wavelength, and further, includes a light source selection 70 which stops the irradiation light of the second light source section 111.
