PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an apparatus of manufacturing a spirally grooved tube which is small in the rate of decrease of the thickness in a root part even when the depth of a spiral groove is made deeper in the manufacture of the spirally grooved tube. SOLUTION: In the method of manufacturing the spirally grooved tube in which the spirally grooved tube is manufactured by pressing a plurality of forming rolls for forming a spiral groove on a tube 5 against the tube wall from the outer peripheral part of the tube 5 in the centripetal direction and also by rotating the rolls in the circumferential direction of the tube 5 relatively to the tube 5 and moving in the X-X direction of the axial direction of the tube, the spiral groove is formed in the state where compressive load is imparted to the tube 5 in the X-X direction of the axis of the tube.
