PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide, in a fuel adding device, a technology capable of correcting the fuel injection volume accurately by more accurately obtaining the actual fuel injection volume. SOLUTION: The fuel adding device comprises a fuel adding valve 11 for injecting fuel to an exhaust passage 9 of an internal combustion engine 1, a fuel circulation passage 13 connected to the fuel adding valve 11 and through which fuel circulates, a closing means 14, 17 for closing the fuel circulation passage 13, and a fuel pressure detecting means 18 for detecting the fuel pressure in the fuel circulation passage 13 in the side of the closing means 14, 17 near to the fuel adding valve 11. The fuel adding device further comprises a fuel injection volume estimating means 12 which makes fuel to be injected from the fuel adding valve 11 when the fuel circulation passage 13 is closed by the closing means 14, 17 and estimates the volume of the fuel injected from the fuel adding valve 11 based on the difference between the pressure of the fuel before the fuel is injected from the fuel adding valve 11 and the pressure of the fuel after the fuel is injected.
