PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an engine cooling device and a method for exchanging cooling water, which do not require any complicated cooling water exchanging device and can easily exchange the cooling water. SOLUTION: The engine cooling device in which a cooling water circulation passage is constituted by connecting an engine 2 and a radiator 3 by a pipe 9, comprises: an open/close valve 6 blocking the cooling water circulation passage when the cooling water is exchanged; a cooling water inlet port 7 disposed downstream of the cooling water circulation passage with respect to the open/close valve 6 and connected with an outside cooling water supply source 16 in exchanging of the cooling water; and a cooling water discharge port 8 disposed upstream of the cooling water circulation passage with respect to the open/close valve 6 and opened in exchanging of the cooling water.
