Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a braid cutter which can cut the braid of a cable without making a cut on the insulator of the cable by a cutting edge. SOLUTION: One end of the insulator 3b of the cable 3 is inserted into the tube of the tip 9d of an insulator protector 9 so that the periphery of the tip 9d of the insulator protector 9 is covered with a braid 3c of the cable 3, and the edge tip of a rotating edge is pushed against the braid 3c covering the tip 9d of the insulator protector 9 so that it is orthogonal to the axis of the tube of the insulator protector 9, and the cable 3 is rotated about the axis, whereby the braid 3c is cut in its circumferential direction by the rotating edge, that is, the braid 3c of the cable 3 is cut by the rotating edge, under the condition that the insulator 3b of the cable 3 be protected with the insulator protector 9, and thereby the braid 3c can be cut, without making incisions to the insulator 3b, by the rotating edge (that is, the cutting edge).
