Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a digital broadcast receiver which allows a high image quality to be obtained and is convenient for use. SOLUTION: During recording, a received and decoded digital broadcast signal is subjected to resolution conversion, frame rate conversion, and bit rate conversion to compress digital broadcast signal information, and the compressed information is stored as data in a recording part like a hard disk. During reproduction, the stored compressed information data is read out and decoded, and then resolution interpolation and frame interpolation are performed by resolution conversion and frame rate conversion to decompress the compressed information, and pictures are displayed.
