Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a casting simulation method which enables the accurate prediction of occurrence of hot/cold crack during a cooling process in a cast product obtained by casting, and also to provide an apparatus therefor, program therefor, a program-recording medium and a casting method. SOLUTION: The casting simulation method comprises: a step S101 for positioning the shape of a mold on a coordination system to divide the shape into minute components; a step S102 for defining the mold and cavity components; a step S106 for previously setting up a ductility-lowering temperature Tc in a metallic material and obtaining the cumulative amount of strain or strain energy generated at each site of the cast product during the process of cooling from the ductility-lowering temperature Tc to room temperature; and a step S107 for determining whether crack occurs in the cast product or not by comparing the actually-measured fracture strain obtained previously by mechanical test or actually-measured fracture strain energy with the cumulative amount of strain or strain energy.
