SOLUTION: A printer A that is a first peripheral device acquires a device setting file from a USB memory (1); performs setup according to setting information in the device setting file (2); and performs self-check (3). When the self-check is successful, the printer A transmits a response request (4). A printer B that is a second peripheral device returns a response (5). The printer transmits, upon receipt of the response, the setting information (6).
