Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a polymer compound and an EL device produced by using the compound. SOLUTION: The polymer compound contains a pyrrole derivative compound and a phenoxazine derivative compound as fundamental units. The EL device is produced by applying the polymer compound to the hole injection layer or a hole transfer layer. Accordingly, the invention provides a high efficiency EL device having excellent electrical properties and high hole transfer capability, drivable at a low voltage and exhibiting excellent properties compared with existing materials when the polymer compound is used as a material for a hole injection layer or a hole transfer layer.
