Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To retain the highly accurately focusing states of a variator lens and focus lens over the entire drive area. SOLUTION: The zoom lens position controller 100 retains the focusing states of the variator lens 111 and focus lens 112 provided in a zoom lens device 110. The zoom lens position controller 100 is provided with: a storage section 102 which stores information on a design-value zoom tracking curve relating the position coordinate of the variator lens 111 to the focusing position coordinate of the focus lens 112 relative to the variator lens 111; a conversion section 104 which converts the arbitrary position coordinate into a position coordinate related to the actual focusing position coordinate on the design value zoom tracking curve stored by the storage section 102, based on the actual focusing position coordinate of the focus lens 112 relative to the variator lens 111 at an arbitrary position coordinate on the optical axis; and a drive section 105 which drives the variator lens 111 and focus lens 112 based on the conversion result acquired by the conversion section 104.
