PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water receiving tank abnormality monitoring device for monitoring water discharge of overflowing water flowing to an overflow pipe in a water receiving tank and an overhead water tank. SOLUTION: This water receiving tank abnormality monitoring device is composed of an elbow stored in a housing and composed of an L-shaped hollow structure, and is composed of a structure for receiving the overflowing water from an opening part of the horizontal end being one end of its elbow and discharging the water from the opening part arranged on the upper end in the vertical direction on the other end of the elbow. A vertically movable element attached with a sensor bar by interlocking with the vertical movement of a water level of the overflowing water flowing in the elbow, is operably arranged in this upper end opening part. When the sensor bar rises, a sensor detects an element of an upper end part of the sensor bar, and reports an abnormal state of an increase quantity of the overflowing water.
