Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To efficiently and quickly obtain a node device which selects a clock for subordinate synchronization with a master node. SOLUTION: The node device performing data transfer, in subordinate synchronism with a master clock becoming the reference clock of synchronous communication on a dual ring network of a bidirectional transmission line comprises an RPR interface transmitter 12 generating a control frame used, when a master node is selected, an inner-side Drop determining section 20 controlling a control frame generated from other node device to be transferred in the transmission direction of a received transmission line, an outer-side Drop determining section 17, a clock switching designator 22 for determining a master node by using the control frame generated from other node device, and a section 23 for switching the clock used, when its own node device performs subordinate synchronization, according to the master node thus determined.
