Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a simple mounting means for a relief valve and to reduce the size of an oil tank in a lubricating device of an internal combustion engine constituted by assembling a tank body to an end face of a crankcase, assembling an oil pump case incorporating an oil pump to an end face of the tank body, and assembling a tank cover for covering the oil pump case to the tank body. SOLUTION: A discharge oil passage extending from the oil pump is provided straddling the oil pump case and the tank body, and an oil passage of the discharge oil passage extending inside the tank body is bent and extended in parallel to a mating face of the oil pump case and the tank body. A relief valve pressure receiving opening is provided to the oil passage parallel to the mating face, and an inner end of the relief valve is fitted in the opening in the assembling direction of the oil pump case. By the mounting of the oil pump case, an outer end of the relieve valve is held by part of the oil pump case, and the relief valve is held between the tank body and the oil pump case and is fixed.
