Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a workpiece feed device capable of efficiently and automatically feeding block-like workpieces vertically and laterally disposed in a workpiece holder and treated by freeze drying to a conveying conveyor. SOLUTION: This workpiece feed device comprises workpiece holding means 33 for holding workpieces W in the workpiece holder H in which block-like workpieces W are vertically and laterally disposed, a reciprocatingly moving means B for reciprocatingly moving the workpiece holding means 33 between the workpiece holder H and the conveying conveyor V, a control means C for controlling the holding operation and the separating operation for the workpieces W by the workpiece holding means 33 according to the reciprocating operation of the reciprocating moving means B, and a workpiece holder moving means A for sequentially moving the workpiece holder H to the takeout position of the workpiece holding means 33 according to the reciprocating operation of the reciprocatingly moving means B. Consequently, the block-like workpieces W vertically and laterally disposed in the workpiece holder H can be efficiently and automatically fed to the conveying conveyor V.
