Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a pressure adjusting function while surely preventing leakage of ink from nozzles of a line head by enhancing closing performance when an opening/closing valve is closed. SOLUTION: A liquid reservoir comprises a first liquid chamber 51, which is capable of reservoiring ink and has an atmosphere communication port 51b for making the inside communicate with the atmosphere, a second liquid chamber 52 having a discharge port 52a for discharging the reservoired ink to the outside, a partition wall 53 for partitioning between the first/second liquid chambers 51, 52, an opening part 53a formed on the partition wall 53 so as to make the ink reservoired in the first liquid chamber 51 to flow out toward the second liquid chamber 52, the opening/closing valve 54, which opens/closes the opening part 53a and has a contact part 54a contactable with the partition wall 53 around the opening part 53a, and a valve mechanism 55 for opening the opening/closing valve 54 with a pressure drop inside the second liquid chamber 52 due to the ink discharge. The contact part 54a of the opening/closing valve 54 is composed of an elastic body radially expanding toward in a direction of contacting with the partition wall 53. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
