Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve reduction in throughput, improvement in recognition accuracy, and reduction in a registration information amount, for improving performance in analysis and recognition of an image. SOLUTION: In a moving range in positioning, a moving interval at least in one direction is separated into a plurality of partial intervals, so that partial positioning intervals are constituted, and if a maximum value of matching degree in the first through m-th (m is a positive constant)partial positioning interval is out of a specified condition, collation processing in the subsequent partial positioning interval is not performed and mismatch is determined by the collation.
