Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a driver of a vehicle to easily becoming aware of the existence of a moving object in a picked-up image without gazing at a display device in a peripheral image display system wherein the picked-up image obtained by imaging a periphery of the vehicle is displayed on the display device. SOLUTION: In the peripheral image display system, a moving object is extracted from an image picked up by a plurality of cameras (S110) in highlighting display processing, and which area out of a plurality of divided areas, into which the area of the image picked up by the plurality of cameras is divided, the extracted moving image exists in is determined (S130). A composite image resulting from combining an image for highlighting display of the whole of the divided area wherein the moving object exist, with the picked-up image is displayed on an image display part (S180 to S200). Consequently, the whole of the divided area is highlighted in the display when the moving object is detected in the divided area, whereby the driver of the vehicle can recognize the existence of the moving object in the picked-up image without gazing at the image display part.
