Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stack device for manufacturing a fuel cell that is capable of positioning a workpiece while surely and tightly fitting it to butting members along with eliminating variations in robot stop accuracy or positional variations in handling even if the variations exist. SOLUTION: The stack device for manufacturing a fuel cell alternately laminates a metal-plate-made separator 15 and a membrane-electrode assembly 14 to a lamination device provided with first/second butting members 17, 18 with a handling device mounted to a transfer robot 24. When the separator 15 or the membrane-electrode assembly 14 is suckingly held by a gripping means 26 having suction pads 25 and the held separator 15 or membrane-electrode assembly 14 is abutted on the first/second butting members 17, 18, impact when the workpiece is strongly collided with the butting members due to variations in stop accuracy of the transfer robot 24 or positional variations between the gripping means 26 and the workpiece is absorbed by an impact absorbing means constituted of coil springs 31, 35 or the like.
