Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a storage device having a performance suitable for data to be stored. SOLUTION: A VD 20 is a virtual storage device for a computer 50 and composed of one or more RDs 30. A state storage device 40 stores a trigger condition for changing the RD 30 configuring the VD 20. When access frequency to the VD 20 is lower than the threshold indicated in the trigger condition, a control mechanism of the state storage device 40 changes the RD 30 constituting the VD 20 to an inexpensive RD 30 having a performance lower than the current RD 30 configuring the VD 20.
