PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a rear projection display device in which image distortion is easily adjustable from the front side of a screen. SOLUTION: By engaging engaging projections 15a and 15b provided on the downside of an optical component placing plate 14 with the engaging grooves 17a and 17b of an adjusting plate 17, and by changing the position of the adjusting plate 17 relative to a bottom wall 12, the optical component placing plate 14 is inclined, and the optical axis of a projection lens 5 in an optical unit 4 mounted thereon is moved in an up-and-down direction, so that the image is adjusted in the up-end-down direction on a screen 7. The optical component placing plate 14 is fixed at two spots on the bottom wall 12, one end side of its back plate 14-3 is fixed on the bottom wall 12, and the other end side thereof is turned, whereby the image on the screen 7 is adjusted in a rotating direction.
