Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching regulator operating with low power consumption by preventing a variation in output voltage. SOLUTION: The switching regulator comprises an oscillation circuit which determines on-timing in a PWM control mode, a comparison voltage source which determines an on-time in the PFM control mode, and a multiplexer outputting one of a voltage of the comparison voltage source or an output of an error-amplifying circuit. The on-timing in the PWM control mode and the on-time in the PFM control mode are determined by switching a voltage inputted to a comparison circuit by means of the multiplexer.
