Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein it is difficult to secure a floating margin by improved static floating characteristics because of a magnetic head slider lowering in floating height. SOLUTION: A reproducing element 8 and a recording element 9 of the magnetic head slider 1 are arranged on a spherical or elliptic projection 12, and the entire projection is formed in an alumina part 11. Accordingly, a reduction in floating margin caused by floating posture fluctuation is prevented, and the generation of a processing step in the spherical or elliptic projection 12 is prevented. The alumina component ratio on the floating surface of a magnetic head slider 100 is controlled to ≥7%, so that the reproducing elemens 8 and the recording element 9 are arranged in a pressure center position on the center rail surface 5 of the floating surface. Thus, the followability in a slider floating is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
