Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify so that a map is not moved beyond the boundary of an area in which data displayable in a three-dimensional manner does not exist in a terminal unit having a display mode for displaying a three-dimensional map and a display mode for displaying a two-dimensional map. SOLUTION: The route search sever 30 includes a polygon database 318 which accumulates polygon data for displaying a three-dimensional map and area information in which the polygon data exists and distributes the polygon data within a predetermined range to the terminal unit 20 in accordance with a viewpoint position. The terminal unit 20 comprises a display means 221 for displaying the three-dimensional map and an area notification means 223 and displays the three-dimensional map on the basis of the polygon data distributed from the route search server 30. When the viewpoint position approaches a predetermined range of the boundary of the area in which three-dimensional polygon data exists, the area notification means 223 outputs a message indicating the termination of the three-dimensional display and provides a state waiting for acceptance concerning switching to a two-dimensional display mode.
