Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a filling water retention material for water retention pavement for sufficiently satisfying various performances such as fluidity, the low breathing ratio, a strength characteristic, water absorptivity and sucking up performance, by a combination with a specific material, while using fly ash as a main raw material. SOLUTION: This filling water retention material for the water retention pavement is mainly composed of the fly ash. The filling water retention material is formed of a mixture composed of gypsum, hydrated lime, cement and water. A material of being heat-treated at the temperature of 85°C or more is used as the gypsum. The various performances such as a P funnel flow value; 9 to 11 sec, the breathing ratio (24 hours); 3% or less, water absorptivity (material age of 28 days); 50% or more, a sucking-up sped of within 180 minutes/10 cm (a sucking-up speed; time required up to saturating a specimen, by absorbing water from a bottom surface (a water soaking depth of 5 mm) of the specimen of 5 cm × 10 cm) and compressive strength; 1 N/mm2or more, are satisfied.
