Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an effluent treatment method used in a line for pickling a steel strip, which can pickle the steel strip in a solution having a constant acid concentration without increasing an effluent treatment load even when water is sprayed to front and rear sides of a squeeze roll so as to prevent the surface of the steel strip from being nonuniformly dried, and to provide an effluent treatment facility therefor. SOLUTION: The effluent treatment method used in the line for pickling the steel strip comprises: sending sprayed water to an effluent treatment tank together with an acid removed by a squeeze roll, when water is sprayed onto the steel strip in either a front side or a rear side of the squeeze roll which is installed in an outlet of a pickling tank in the line for pickling the steel strip; and returning the acid removed by the squeeze roll to the pickling tank, when water is not sprayed in any of the front side and the rear side of the squeeze roll.
