PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a new oxetane compound that has many numbers of oxetane groups bonded in one molecule and provides a strong polymer by a cationic polymerization and its use. SOLUTION: The oxetane compound is represented by general formula (1) (R is each may be the same or different and is hydrogen, a methyl group or an ethyl group; L1is each may be the same or different and is a single bond or -(CH2)n- (n is an integer of 1-12); X is each may be the same or different and is a single bond, -O-, -O-CO- or -CO-O-; Y is each may be the same or different and is a single bond or -O-; M is each may be the same or different and is represented by formula (2) -P1-L2-P2- or formula (3) -P1- (P1and P2are each separately selected from groups represented by formula (4)); L2is a single bond, -CH2=CH2-, -C≡C-, -O-, -O-CO- or -CO-O-).
