Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a catalyst which is used for polymerizing olefins, can give polymers having high stereoregularity in high catalyst activity and in good yields, and has good hydrogen response, and to provide a method for producing an olefin polymer in the presence of the catalyst. SOLUTION: This catalyst for polymerizing the olefin contains, as active ingredients, (A) a solid catalyst component comprising magnesium, titanium, a halogen and an electron-donating compound, (B) an organic aluminum compound represented by the general formula: R5pAlQ3-p, and (C) an aminosilane compound represented by the general formula: R1mHSi(OR2)n(NR3R4)3-m-n.
