Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination control system and illumination control method for realizing highly accurate monitoring in facilities to be monitored by securing the brightness of a camera photographing area while reducing power consumption of a mobile object. SOLUTION: The illumination control system for on/off control of at least one illuminating apparatus in facilities to be monitored includes an imaging means for photographing a preset photography area, a position measuring means for measuring a current position, a transmitting means for transmitting image data obtained by the imaging means and position information obtained by the position measuring means, and a mobile object moving through a preset path in the facilities to be monitored, and a monitoring controller for on/off control of the illuminating apparatus, based on the position information from the mobile object.
