SOLUTION: In the shuttle mechanism of a dot line printer where a hammer bank mounting a plurality of print elements is reciprocated in the figure direction while being guided by a shift plate, the shift plate 2 is arranged vertically while being held between a pair of bearings 16 secured non-rotatably to a base plate 19 by means of an auxiliary securing member.
