Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscopic signal processor by which an external SDTV image from a PinP terminal may be suitably synthesized even when either of an endoscope corresponding to HDTV or an endoscope corresponding to SDTV is connected. SOLUTION: In this endoscopic signal processor, when the endoscope corresponding to HDTV is connected, a memory for HDTV and a first memory for external SDTV image signals are read out in a high speed, and output and synthesized by switching HDTV image signals and external SDTV image signals. When an endoscope corresponding to SDTV is connected, the memory for SDTV and a second memory for external SDTV image signals are read out in a low speed to perform a thinning process and, further, output and synthesized by switching SDTV image signals and external SDTV image signals.
