PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting apparatus in which lighting adjustment is done based on a cumulative lighting duration and a luminance of the lighting apparatus installed in a same space and within a time difference caused by an error of an oscillator is prevented from being adjusted one after another. SOLUTION: The lighting apparatus is provided with a light adjustment table memorizing part 114 to memorize as a light adjustment table an output level of a discharge lamp 40 for a cumulative lighting duration of the discharge lamp, a cumulative lighting duration counting part 116 to count a cumulative lighting duration of the discharge lamp 40, and a light adjusting control part 112 which, in case the lighting apparatus is switched from off to on, detects an output level for a cumulative lighting duration counted by the cumulative lighting duration counting part 116 based on the light adjustment table memorized by the light adjustment table memorizing part 114 and adjusts the output level of the discharge lamp 40 based on the detected output level.
