Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an informing means for informing a user by using sound interlocked with the opening/closing operation of an opening/closing member openable/closable to an image forming apparatus body with simple, inexpensive and reliable configuration. SOLUTION: An abutting member 23 such as a rigid projection is provided on an upper feeding cassette 4, and a cantilever metal piece 24 in cantilever shape is provided in a recording material feeding device 5. When the upper feeding cassette 4 is inserted in/pulled out from the image forming apparatus body, the abutting member 23 comes into contact with the free end edge 24a of the cantilever metal piece 24 and then separates therefrom, whereby the sound caused by sine vibration is produced.
