PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize both the prevention of the appearance of a crack, and that of a deterioration in designability, caused by efflorescence, and the production of dust etc., in a soil-based pavement. SOLUTION: In this construction method for the soil-based pavement, after the preparation of a mixture for the soil-based pavement, in which soil, and cement and/or hydrated lime are mixed together, water is mixed into the mixture for the soil-based pavement, so that a pavement material can be prepared; and the pavement material is placed and spread in a paving place, subjected to surface compaction, and cured for the soil-based pavement. When the soil for use contains 2-30 mass% particles with a particle diameter of 75 μm or less and the mixture for the soil-based pavement contains a surfactant-based shrinkage reducing agent 1a, the construction method comprises a coating step of forming a surface layer 2, which is composed of an acrylic silicon-based, urethane-based or epoxy silicon-based coating agent, on the soil-based pavement 1.
