Summary: | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polymeric polyether polyol (PEP) which has a narrow molecular-weight distribution, and is not liable to become cloudy at room temperature and also is excellent in the flowability even when copolymerized with ethylene oxide (EO). SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a PEP, comprising feeding a mixture of an alkylene oxide (AO) and an EO each having the number of carbons of 3 or more to a polyether polyol initiator in the presence of a compound metal cyanide complex catalyst in a reaction vessel and carrying out a random copolymerization reaction under agitation to thereby form an external block chain on the initiator, is characterized in that the PEP used as the initiator has the number of average functional groups of 1-8 per mole, a hydroxy group value of 18-200 mg KOH/g and also A% of the end hydroxy groups of primary hydroxy groups, and that the coplymerization reaction is carried out with maintaining the EO proportion so that the relationship between the EO proportion (E% by mole) accounting for the whole mixture of AO and EO each having the number of carbons of 3 and more and fed in the reaction vessel and the primarization ratio (A%) to the end hydroxy groups of the initiator may lead to formula: (E-A)<40, and with feeding a mixture of AO and EO so that the initiator proportion accounting for the whole mass of a PEP obtained may become 3-60% by mass.
