Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively deodorize, mask and discharge from a garbage disposer the uncomfortable odor in air produced from the waste fermentation/drying process using a deodorizing catalyst system of the disposer but still remaining after this deodorizing treatment, so that users can easily exchange the deodorant or aromatic in the disposer. SOLUTION: A deodorizing/masking device 1 is provided with a storage container 4 holding liquid deodorants 3, not incorporated in the garbage disposer 2 but placed on top of it. When malodorous warm air passes through spaces on the liquid deodorant 3 in the storage container 4, the liquid deodorant 3 evaporates by the heat of the warm air, removes or masks the odor in the warm air, and after being deodorized or masked, the air is discharged to appropriate spaces as users like through exhaust ducts 5 connecting the storage container 4.
