Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an LED attaching structure and a method whereby in spite of the simple structure, an LED unit can be attached to other components and other products, etc. while adjusting its direction. SOLUTION: An LED 32, a lens 34 positioned just in front of the LED, and a flange member 35 positioned on the outer peripheral side of the lens are integrated with each other to form an LED unit. An annular contact 38 formed on the peripheral surface of the flange member 35 of the LED unit is contacted with an annular contacting surface 22 which is formed on the peripheral surface of a pierced supporting hole of a supporting member 20, and whose diameter is reduced as move it from the rear side of the supporting member 20 to the front side thereof. Then, the contacting position of the annular contact 38 with the annular contacting surface 22 is changed to adjust the direction of the LED unit relative to the supporting member 20.
