Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal recording medium with excellent coloring sensitivity, good water resistance and good running properties on printing (stick and head dregs). SOLUTION: The thermal recording body, provided with a thermal recording layer comprising a colorless or light-colored basic leuco dye and a developer as main components on a substrate, keeps a condensate or a condensation composition expressed by a general formula (1) is incorporated as the developer, and an acrylic polymer and a colloidal silica incorporated in the thermal recording layer. In the formula, R is a hydrogen atom, a halogen atom, a hydroxyl group, a lower alkyl group, an alkoxyl group, a cyano group, a nitro group, an aryl group or an aralkyl group; m Rs may be same or different; m is an integer of 0-3; n is an integer of 0-3; X and Y are respectively a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group.
