PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent clogging of a filter disposed in a circulating air duct for heating air caused by the moisture brought into the filter in a dryer of a horizontal drum-type washing machine. SOLUTION: In the dryer, both ends of the circulating air channel 4 in which a heat exchanging part 8, the filter 50 and a heating part 7 are disposed in the order from the upstream side to the downstream side are connected to a drying tub 3, and air in the drying tub 3 is forced to circulate through the circulating air duct 4 to dry the content in the drying tub 3. The dryer has a turn-back part 43a in the circulating air channel 4 between the heat exchanging part 8 and the heating part 7. The filter 50 is disposed on the downstream side of the turn-back part, the heating part 7 is on the downstream side of the filter, and the heat exchanging part 8 is lower than the height position of the turn-back part 43a.
