Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve discernment accuracy and increase a processing speed by discerning between monochrome printing and color printing from a page description language. SOLUTION: The color/monochrome processing section 27 of an image forming device 2 analyzes a page description language (PDL) relating to printing, discerns whether the printing is practically monochrome or color for every page. The image forming device changes the command of the page description language to a command for monochrome printing when judging that the printing is monochrome printing.
