Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device for treating a rope-like fiber product. SOLUTION: The rope-like fiber product is treated in a closed vessel including at least two J boxes adjoining in the axial direction and receiving the fiber product during at least a part of treating time. In the method, a driving operation in a feed direction is transmitted to the fiber product by gas flow of a feed medium brought to act on a rope through a feed nozzle means. The fiber product passes through individual feed nozzele means assigned to the J boxes before entering into each of the J boxes. The fiber product is selectively introduced to a relating first J box or a second J box adjacent to the J box when it goes out from the feed nozzle means, or in the case of at least one J box, the fiber product is led along a predetermined pathway for carrying the fiber product in a direction separated from the J box.
