Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coated optical fiber and a coated optical fiber ribbon in which an adhesive strength of a colored layer is improved. SOLUTION: Ultraviolet ray irradiation quantity and atmospheric oxygen are controlled during the hardening of an optical fiber coating layer resin, so that the surface condition of a primary coated optical fiber is optimized relative to the adhesiveness in the coating of the colored layer resin. The evaluation of the optimization is performed in a manner that a dynamic contact angle (α-β) to pure water as determined by the Wilhelmy method is ≥29°. In particular, peeling of the colored layer is prevented in the fiber separation of an optical fiber from a coated optical fiber ribbon. COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
