Summary:PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely detect a person in the stationary state, and to enhance energy saving furthermore. SOLUTION: A slave unit 10 of an automatic switch with a heat ray sensor having the heat ray sensor 240 for detecting existence of a person by detecting a change of heat radiated from a human body is connected to a master unit 20 of the automatic switch with the heat ray sensor for receiving a signal from the heat ray sensor and controlling automatically illumination L as a load, and is used for detecting existence of a person on a place separated from the master unit. The slave unit 10 includes a near-infrared sensor 12 for radiating a near-infrared ray and detecting existence of a person on a prescribed position by its reflected light.
